Abstract

The increasing integration of games and gamified elements into foreign language learning environments has demonstrated significant
potential for enhancing learner motivation and engagement. However, effectively assessing the language acquisition and proficiency
development that occurs within these dynamic contexts presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. This paper explores various
approaches to assessing language learning through games and gamified activities. It examines how traditional assessment methods can
be adapted and new methods developed to capture the multifaceted nature of language learning in game-enhanced settings.
