Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the pivotal role English plays in modern education. As the dominant medium of international communication, academic exchange, and technological advancement, English has become an indispensable component of global educational systems. Drawing on theoretical perspectives from sociolinguistics, educational policy, and applied linguistics, the paper evaluates the pedagogical, socio-cultural, and economic implications of English language expansion. While acknowledging the considerable opportunities English affords, the article also addresses concerns related to linguistic inequality, cultural homogenisation, and the diminishing status of indigenous languages. The study concludes by offering evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at balancing global integration with linguistic diversity.
