Abstract
This article focuses on the complex representation of Uzbek identity in the literary works of Javlon Jovliyev, with special attention to the
narratives about female characters in his novel “Qo‘rqma” and stories. A prominent Uzbek writer, Jovliyev intricately weaves themes
of culture, tradition, and modernity in his works, providing a nuanced perspective on the complexities of Uzbek identity. By carefully
analyzing the representation of women in “Qo‘rqma” and his stories, this study aims to uncover the layers of identity construction in
Uzbek society that Jovliyev describes.
