Abstract
This article examines the impact of social media on the mental health of young people. Both positive and negative effects of social media use are analyzed, including its influence on anxiety levels, depressive symptoms, self-esteem, and social skills. Excessive use of social networks may contribute to psychological problems, while moderate and purposeful use can support social connection and cognitive development. The study is based on recent research in psychology and sociology and highlights the need for digital literacy and effective self-regulation strategies among young people.
